Getting started

Maya Insights connects your store and marketing data to an AI assistant, so you can ask questions in plain language instead of building reports. This page takes you from installing the app to your first answer.

1. Install Maya Insights on your store​

Maya Insights is completing Shopify App Store review. Email [email protected] and we will send you an install link for your store in the meantime.

Installing asks you to approve the permissions Shopify requests. Maya Insights reads orders, customers, products, inventory, fulfillments, and marketing events. It never writes to your store.

2. Choose a plan​

After installing, pick a plan and approve the charge in Shopify. Billing is handled entirely by Shopify and appears on your regular Shopify invoice.

3. Wait for your first sync​

Once the charge is approved, everything is automatic: your Maya Insights organization is created, your data warehouse and reporting model are provisioned, and your first Shopify sync starts immediately. There is nothing to configure.

The first sync takes a while — it is loading your history, not just today. You will see live progress on screen, and you will get an email when your data is ready.

4. Connect your AI assistant​

Copy your MCP URL:

It is shown on the post-purchase screen, and later under Settings in the Maya Insights app. The same URL works in every assistant that supports custom connectors.

Then, in Claude:

  1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
  2. Paste the MCP URL above and confirm. Claude opens your browser — sign in to Maya Insights to authorize the connection.
  3. Open a new chat. You're connected.

5. Ask your first question​

Open a new chat and try:

  • "How did my store perform last week?"
  • "Which products are selling best this month?"
  • "What analysis categories do I have access to?"

That last one is worth asking early. It tells you exactly what your organization can analyze right now, which depends on the sources you have connected.
